Family Support Institute is a province wide non profit organization, directed by families who understand, the extraordinary circumstances that come with having a family member who has a disability believe that families are the best resource available to support one another.

FSI supports families, with children and adults of all ages and all disabilities including mental health challenges. It is not however an advocacy organization.

Their large volunteer network of over 260 Resource Parents & Family Members, follow a peer-to-peer family support model that consists of:

  • Sharing experiences & expertise

  • Providing emotional and in person support

  • Guiding families to relevant services/supports & resources in their own communities across BC

  • Assisting families with information, training and province-wide networking

As always the support provided will be confidential and personal information will only be shared with a CLS representative when the family has given the authorization to do so.
